Everyone – gamer or not – has heard or played a Mario game at least once. Released first as a platforming game in 1985, it then evolved into several different gaming genres.

Donkey Kong was one of the earliest platforming arcade games, and was when our iconic Mario was first seen on gaming screens before getting his own game! Released in 1981, it marked Nintendo's first big success around the world.

The name "Kong" was inspired by the movie King Kong, and the game itself was rather straightforward. You play the role of Mario, navigating a series of obstacles while evading barrels and fireballs hurled by Donkey Kong in order to rescue your girlfriend, Pauline.

Now, with the fresh new release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, this simple concept has been improved massively. Now this platforming game features co-op play, brand new worlds, updated music and visuals, puzzles and so much more! It’s a great game to get invested in as a single-player or with friends!

Though the story seems simple, The Legend of Zelda is packed with mysteries, puzzles, and wide stunning landscapes to explore. It's one of the earliest open-world RPGs and has remained a favourite among gamers because of how well it’s made and how addicting it is to play!

The newest release, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is the sequel to the extremely popular Breath of the Wild game. It has three worlds stacked on top of each other, which is a monumental achievement in open-world game design.

The game basically takes place several years after the Breath of the Wild game, where Link and Zelda set out to solve the mystery of the new danger looming upon the kingdom. In this new instalment, players can expect to discover exciting improvements and, importantly, unlock new abilities that grant greater freedom in tackling the game's complex puzzles and challenges.
