The war has caused many losses, forcing people away from their homes. We asked some of the families to share with us their stories and their hopes for the future. We gathered these hopes as letters and drawings; their stories inspire the illustrations on our dolls.
By giving the children the chance to draw and express their dreams we also aspire to help heal their invisible pain through art and self-expression.
Each doll was given the name of a refugee and once sold, part of the proceeds go back to that refugee.
Hamida: "I am Hamida. I live with my daughter Sawsan in a booth that is 6 meters squared. We have moved 2 times in the past 3 years until we found this safe place. Thank God I have found work that pays $50 a month to pay for living. My daughter Sawsan dreams of playing with her friends in the public garden that used to be near our old house."
