About Balqees Fathi
Balqees, known as one of the Arab worldâs biggest names in music, is the daughter of the well-known Yemeni musician Ahmad Fathi, and sings opera in Arabic, English, French and Italian. The 28-year-old came into the limelight with the release of her first song Masaaâla Sahla in collaboration with HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and Fayez Al Saeed. She released her first album, Majnoun Balqees, in 2013 and her second album, Zay ma ana in 2015.
Balqees has since earned numerous awards and titles including LâOfficiel Middle East Arab Woman of the Year award for âYoung Talent 2012â, along with âBest Young Talentâ as per Al Sada and Zahrat Al Khaleej Magazineâs surveys. She as well was featured on many arabic magazine covers and participated as an official spokeswoman in many arabic and foreign conferences such as The Arab Media Forum and The Arab luxury Forum in Dubai; Balqees contributed as an arabic artist and a well known media icon supporting a campaign to end violence against women in the Middle East, and was later given the Title : UN Champion for women rights in the Middle East 2016.
