The “Comfort for Strangers” proves that literature and the social sciences, together, offer a new understanding of what is called “the literature of social density” by providing analyzes and treatments about the individual’s preference for the rare option over the common (or vice versa), and the intimate honesty that flows from it with a stranger without his family and friends. About his daily transient relationships (link and cut), and his feeling of lightness as long as his identity is unknown to those in front of him. Life among strangers in the street, in the market, and in the neighborhood, is a new civic experience in human history, and has produced new types of social relations, and reconfigured others, in accordance with the new power inherent in the individual's hand resulting from the weakening of the bonds between him and the people and their relationships.
It is the story of Colin and Mary's travels during their vacation, and their confinement together inside their intimate capsule in a strange country overrun by tourists. They feel that they do not know each other, and one of them becomes interested in his appearance and clothes, as if someone is waiting for him outside. One day, they meet a suspicious man with a strange story to tell, and are drawn into the imaginary worlds of love and passion, as well as unbridled sadism.
