This vehicle was built by Toyota, with production starting and finishing in a decade from 1980 to 1990. They were produced in Toyota City, Japan, as well as Cumana, Venezuela, who continued production for a further two years until 1992 for their local market. The body came as a 4-door SUV with four-wheel drive and an engine at the front of the car. The 60 series retained its predecessors off-road qualities, although the 60 was designed to be a stronger competitor in the emerging sport utility vehicle market. Due to this, the Land Cruiser 60 was featured with a variety of interior upgrades, such as air conditioning, a rear heater, and an interior facelift. The engine size ranged from a 3.4 litre diesel to 4.0 litre petrol and diesel engine and lastly a 4.2 litre which was carried over and unchanged from the ‘40’ series. In 1981, the Land Cruiser 60 was introduced to South Africa after a stock Land Cruiser took part in Toyota 1000km Desert Race in the rigorous extremes of Botswana. The Land Cruiser 60 comes in a variety of colours, this one being beige.
