Five hundred years before Jesus' birth, a realizing divinity named Lao Tzu in ancient China dictated eighty-one verses, which many people consider to be the ultimate commentary on the nature of our existence. The classic text of these 81 verses, called the Tao Te Ching or the Great Way, provides advice and guidance that is balanced, moral, and spiritual, always concerned with working for good.
Dr. Wen W. Dyer (( Wayne W. Dyer in this book reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching, and wrote eighty-one different articles on how to apply ancient Lao-Tzu wisdom to the contemporary world. This work contains eighty-one complete Tao verses compiled from Wen's research into ten of the most respected text translations that have resisted the ravages of time for more than twenty-five centuries. Each chapter is designed with the intent of actually living the Tao or Great Way of the day. Some of the chapter titles are "Living Flexibly", "Living Without Enemies", and "Living Through Leaving". Each of the 81 brief chapters focuses on living the Tao, and concludes with a section called “Doing Tao Now.”
Wen spent an entire year reading, researching, meditating on Lao Tzu's letters, and practicing them every day, and eventually writing these essays, because he felt that Lao Tzu wanted you to know.
It's a work to read slowly, One article per day. As Wayne says, "This is a book that will forever change the way you look at your life, with the result that you will live in a new world in harmony with nature. Writing this book changed me forever as well. I now live in accord with the natural world and feel the greatest sense of peace ever." Launch.I am very proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought.
