In 2019, during the restoration of the “Bir Al-Watawit Locanda” adjacent to the “Ahmed Ibn Tulun” mosque in the “Sayeda Zainab” neighborhood, diaries dating back to 1865 AD were found buried behind the wall of room No. seven on the third floor of the Locanda building, and are well preserved.

This book includes the diaries from number 34 to 53 without deletion or revision, and they are the only diaries suitable for publication, in which the mortuary photographer “Suleiman Effendi Al-Seyoufi” chronicled in the years before the establishment of an organized police apparatus, when he was assigned to investigate the truth about the murder of One of the pashas in a gruesome way, and with his inherited experience in the analysis of the crime scene, discovers that the death was a premeditated murder, and an actor left with his victim a souvenir, before discovering that this crime was only the first crime in a series of assassinations, he realized without effort, that it would end with him.
